“จดหมายฉบับสุดท้าย” ก่อนคำวินิจฉัยของศาลรัฐธรรมนูญในวันที่ 29 สิงหาคม 2568 ไม่ว่าผลจะเป็นอย่างไร สิ่งที่ควรทำคือการหันกลับมาทบทวนการทำงานตลอดหนึ่งปีที่ผ่านมา ว่าตอบสนองความหวังของประชาชนได้จริงหรือไม่ ประชาชนคาดหวังผู้นำที่มีวิสัยทัศน์ มองไกลออกไปกว่าปัญหาชั่วคราวที่อยู่ตรงหน้า ต้องกล้าที่จะยอมรับว่าเศรษฐกิจไทยกำลังล้าหลังเพื่อนบ้าน การพึ่งพาเพียงการท่องเที่ยวหรืออุตสาหกรรมเดิม ๆ ไม่เพียงพออีกต่อไป หากไม่เร่งปรับโครงสร้างเศรษฐกิจให้ทันต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลง อีกไม่กี่ปีข้างหน้าประเทศอาจเผชิญปัญหาหนักยิ่งกว่าเดิม ขณะเดียวกัน เรื่องเร่งด่วนที่กระทบชีวิตผู้คนอย่างการทุจริต ฝุ่นควันพิษ ราคาพืชผลที่ตกต่ำ หรือปัญหายาเสพติด ล้วนต้องการการแก้ไขอย่างจริงจัง มิใช่คำพูดกว้าง ๆ ที่ไม่มีน้ำหนักทางนโยบาย การบริหารทีมเศรษฐกิจก็เช่นกัน นายกรัฐมนตรีควรแสดงบทบาทชัดเจน มั่นใจ และสามารถสร้างความเชื่อถือได้ ไม่ใช่ปล่อยให้รัฐมนตรีแต่ละคนทำงานแบบไร้ทิศทาง อีกประเด็นสำคัญคือเรื่องภาพลักษณ์และความน่าเชื่อถือของผู้นำ ประชาชนต้องการผู้นำที่สื่อสารตรงไปตรงมา มีความมั่นใจ และสะท้อนความจริงใจในการทำงาน ไม่ใช่ภาพลักษณ์ที่เต็มไปด้วยแบรนด์เนม หรือคำพูดที่ฟังดูหรูหราแต่ขาดเนื้อหา ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น การที่บุคคลใกล้ชิดหรือครอบครัว โดยเฉพาะบิดาของนายกรัฐมนตรี เข้ามามีบทบาททางการเมืองมากเกินไป ก็ยิ่งบั่นทอนความไว้วางใจของสังคม รายละเอียดเพิ่มเติม : https://www.bangkokbiznews.com/politics/1196276

This week’s feature: “The Final Open Letter to Paetongtarn” by Assoc. Prof. Witaya Danthamrongkul, Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute (TU-RAC).

This “final letter” comes ahead of the Constitutional Court’s ruling on August 29, 2025. Regardless of the verdict, what truly matters is a reflection on the past year of leadership whether it has genuinely lived up to the people’s expectations.
Citizens expect a leader with vision, one who looks beyond short-term fixes and dares to acknowledge that Thailand’s economy is falling behind its neighbors. Reliance on tourism or the same old industries is no longer enough. Without urgent structural reforms to keep pace with change, the country risks facing even greater challenges in the years ahead.
Meanwhile, urgent issues that directly affect people’s lives corruption, toxic smog, falling crop prices, and the drug crisis require decisive action, not broad and weightless statements. The same applies to economic management: the Prime Minister must step forward with clarity, confidence, and credibility, rather than leaving ministers to work in a disjointed, directionless manner.
Another key concern lies in the image and credibility of leadership. People want a leader who communicates directly and sincerely, with confidence rooted in action not an image wrapped in brand names or lofty words without substance. Moreover, the visible political role of close associates and family especially the Prime Minister’s father has only deepened doubts about independence and integrity.
