One of the most important ideas of Puey Ungphakorn was the vision of “quality of life from the womb to the tomb.” After 110 years, an important question remains: has the quality of life of Thai people moved closer to, or further away from, his ideal?
.
Perhaps there is no single answer. Yet it is a question that invites Thai society to reflect on fairness, access to education, and life security so that “development” is measured not only by economic numbers, but by the true well-being of people.
