Triggering the Emergency Alarm: Government Communication Failure Amid the 2025 Southern Thailand Flood Crisis

The government has a complete disaster-response plan but its actions are too slow.
by Watchara Aomsiri Lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering, points out that although the government’s communication framework looks solid on paper, its implementation is delayed and ineffective during the severe flooding across Southern provinces: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
The public is forced to bear unnecessary risks from this communication breakdown. It is time to rethink Thailand’s warning systems and official communication channels before the next crisis becomes even worse.
