ข่าวฉาวเกี่ยวกับการเงินในวัดถูกเผยแพร่ซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า จนศรัทธาของประชาชนเริ่มสั่นคลอน บทความนี้ชี้ว่า “ความโปร่งใสทางการเงิน” คือกุญแจสำคัญที่จะสร้างความเชื่อมั่นใหม่ เพราะเงินที่ประชาชนถวายวัด ไม่ใช่ทรัพย์สินส่วนตัวของพระ แต่เป็นศาสนสมบัติที่ต้องบริหารจัดการอย่างมีระบบ
ปัจจุบันมหาเถรสมาคมได้ออกแนวปฏิบัติให้วัดเปิดบัญชีในนามวัด ใช้ผู้ลงนามร่วมอย่างน้อยสามคน และทำรายงานรายรับรายจ่ายเป็นประจำ แต่สำหรับวัดขนาดกลางและใหญ่ที่มีเงินหมุนเวียนมาก ยังต้องก้าวไปไกลกว่านั้น เช่น จัดทำงบการเงินประจำปี ตรวจสอบโดยผู้สอบบัญชี เผยแพร่ข้อมูลต่อสาธารณะ และสร้างระบบควบคุมภายในที่ชัดเจน

หากวัดยอมรับแนวทางนี้ ก็จะเปลี่ยนวิกฤตความไม่ไว้วางใจให้กลับเป็นโอกาสในการฟื้นศรัทธา การจัดการอย่างโปร่งใสไม่เพียงทำให้เงินถูกใช้ตรงวัตถุประสงค์ แต่ยังสะท้อนวัฒนธรรม “พร้อมตรวจสอบ” ที่ช่วยให้วัดเป็นศูนย์กลางศรัทธาและความร่วมมือของสังคมได้อย่างแท้จริง

Scandals over temple finances have surfaced repeatedly, shaking people’s faith. This article points out that financial transparency is the key to rebuilding trust—because money donated to temples is not the personal property of monks, but religious assets that must be managed systematically.
Currently, the Sangha Supreme Council requires temples to open accounts in the temple’s name, use at least three co-signers for withdrawals, and prepare regular financial reports. Yet, for medium and large temples with substantial funds, further steps are essential: preparing annual financial statements, having accounts audited, publishing financial information to the public, and establishing clear internal control systems.

If temples embrace these measures, distrust can be turned into an opportunity to restore faith. Transparent management not only ensures funds are used for their intended purposes but also fosters a culture of “accountability-ready” governance—helping temples truly remain centers of faith and social trust.
